Our team  of  trainers offer a diversity of backgrounds and athletic experiences to match your  specific  requirements.   All of our trainers  are  certified  and/or have a bachelor's degree in exercise science.

Fitness Perspective:

Without our health, nothing  much  else  matters.   The saying, “use it or lose it” directly applies  to  our  bones,  muscles,  flexibility,  strength,  cardiovascular  conditioning and overall quality of life.   My role is to encourage individuals to keep moving and stay active for the rest of their lives.  I assist clients to establish a workout/activity geared to achieve their goals, enhance their fitness level, and provide enjoyment to their day. 

Education:

  • ACE (American Council on Exercise) Certified
  • Completed ACE’s Required Continuing Education Credits (20 hours bi-annually)
  • Completed MAT (Muscle Activation Techniques) course
  • Certified Silversneakers Instructor
  • CPR/AED Certified
  • BA in Human Resources, University of Kansas (KU)  

Experience:

  • 8 years Personal Trainer both at Fitness Plus More and independently (currently)
  • 7 years CYO Track Coach for 5-8 grade girls at Cure of Ars school
  • 2 years Silversneakers Instructor (sub now)
  • 4 years Aerobics Instructor (sub now)
  • 12 years Human Resources professional (trained in coaching, counseling & goal setting)

  • 15 years competitive swimmer, runner, and triathlete
  • 5 years high school and collegiate cheerleader (KU)
  • 35+ years consistent and active exerciser

Areas of Interest:  

  • Individual Evaluations – to assess ROM (Range of Motion) and areas of muscular weakness that can cause pain, limitations, or injuries. 
  • Strength and Endurance Training – to improve overall fitness and health.
  • Multi-Functional and Body Weight Training – to develop strength and improve performance of daily living activities and/or athletic endeavors.
  • Core Training – to learn how to initiate and use the core through all movement, to stabilize and strengthen the back.
  • Balance/Flexibility/Range of Motion – to strengthen muscles, prevent injuries, and enhance daily living activities.
